No matter what you think about Tiger – he’s breathing a lot of life back into the game! The ratings this weekend where through the roof, I know that I got excited to watch golf for the first time in a long time. You could argue that the Masters will do that anyways – but the “Tiger factor” was the biggest story this week and will be for the entire year. That’s hard for me to say as a die hard Phil fan, but it’s the truth.
Say what you will about the “news” from off the course, but while inside the ropes he’s a force like no other. As an arm chair critic, it was easy to see that he wasn’t in control of his golf ball like we have seen in the past, however a fourth place finish after a 5 month layoff at Augusta is an amazing feat. It was a scary thing to hear the disappointment in his voice after the final round. Tiger will be back soon and when he tees it up again – the rest of the golfing world will be watching… and those walking alongside of him better bring their “A” game, ’cause Tiger will.
